Deakin Consulting’s Insightful Leadership and Valuation Experience
Managing Director Stan Deakin brings valuation leadership to our firm’s client service team. Over his appraisal career, he has valued a wide array of businesses and business interests, ranging from pre-revenue – i.e., no sales – startup-stage firms to established middle-market businesses and multi-billion-dollar enterprises. He is well experienced in valuing interests of publicly traded companies and privately held entities. Such diversity in assignments and experience allows him to serve the firm’s clients regardless of business size or industry segment, whether publicly held or private.
Professional Designations
Stan Deakin is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designated holder and member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. He is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) specialized in business valuation, member of the American Society of Appraisers, and a past president of the ASA Society’s Los Angeles Chapter.
Education
Mr. Deakin brings to the firm’s clients an educational background, rich experience and continuously updated knowledge base. These ingredients lend his work the professional credibility that is essential for all valuation assignments.
He earned his BA in Mathematics from Colgate University and his MBA in Finance from Portland State University. He has also attended and conducted many professional courses and seminars relating to valuation of businesses, businesses interests and intangible assets on behalf of leading organizations.
Mr. Deakin enjoys working with a diverse list of clients, ranging from early-stage business entrepreneurs to seasoned veterans operating established businesses. He finds there is so much more to the valuation process than financial reports and statistics. He is frequently called upon as an expert witness in litigated matters. He has testified in numerous cases, including arbitrated matters and cases before Federal District Courts and California’s Superior Courts.
